The architectural firm of George W. and William D. Hewitt prepared drawings for a Green and Palm House to be built on Heart Island. The Hewitt brothers were very renowned for the work they did. The Green and Palm Houses that the Hewitt's designed included a full carpenter shop with a workbench, large benches for flowers and plants as well as a large wash basin in the Palm House.
