A Virtual Tour
In 1900, construction began on Boldt Castle, a dream from the mind of millionaire George C. Boldt, which was meant to be a gift of love to his wife Louise, on Valentines Day. Only the finest of artists and craftsmen were sought to work on the castle, and only the finest of materials were used to construct it. Money was no object.
Like an ancient landmark of northern Europe, the castle is modeled after buildings of the 16th Century Italian Renessance, where newly revived classical details were applied to the towered, medieval forms, combining traditional elements with modern features, such as large plate glass windows and extensive verandas.
